As part of Big L 1395's Sunday lineup, original offshore Radio London/Big L DJ Ian Damon played a host of Solid Gold classics, including some rare "Scratchy Vinyl" from his own large collection.

He ended the run with a statement that read:

“This is Ian Damon and I’d just like to say that due to the present situation at the station I’m no longer able to continue with this programme after today and although continual promises have been made, no remuneration owed to me has been paid – and still has not been forthcoming this month as was promised.

It’s a sad time as I have enjoyed presenting this programme over the last 3½ years to you my listeners and I’d like to say thank you to all of you for your support and interesting comments made during that time. Hope it won’t be too long before I’m able to speak to you once again on the air at some future date. But in the meantime I think it’s about time I wrote my autobiography and hope that you’ll obtain it and enjoy listening and reading the tales I’ve told you during my 54 years in broadcasting. There are so many people to thank so if I’ve not been able to mention you personally today on the air please accept my apologies as we listen to the Big Lil….”
